Understand How the Vehicle Description Can Benefit Your Fleet Management

Updated over 3 weeks ago

On the Softruck platform, you have the option to include detailed information about the vehicles you are registering. This information is valuable for efficient fleet management and ensuring the best vehicle performance. Below, we highlight two common ways to use the description in the vehicle registration tab:

Maintenance Checklist

A recommended practice is to use the description field to include a maintenance checklist. This checklist may contain items such as:

  • Oil check;

  • Tire inspection;

  • Fluid check;

  • Lighting system inspection;

  • Among other essential aspects for vehicle safety and efficiency.

It is recommended to update this checklist periodically to ensure vehicle maintenance is always up to date.

Tracker Location

Plates with installed tracking devices can use the description field to record the exact location of the device. Examples include:

  • Under the dashboard;

  • In the trunk;

  • Behind the back seat;

  • Inside the engine compartment.

This information is crucial in case of theft or vehicle loss, as it helps speed up recovery through tracking. Additionally, it facilitates maintenance or removal of the device later.
