How to Configure the Y18 Device via SMS

Device Configuration and Testing on the Softruck Platform: Complete Guide to Configuration and Sending Commands via SMS

To configure and test a device on the Softruck platform, it must first be properly registered in the tool.

Once the device is properly registered, you must configure it to report to the Softruck platform.

In this manual, we will learn how to perform this configuration via text messages (SMS), which must be sent to the phone number of the SIM card installed in the device.

Before you start sending configuration commands:

  • Install the SIM chip in your device.

  • Connect the device to a 12V power source.

It is important to note that the APN, username, and password must be updated with the correct information for each, as these vary depending on the SIM card provider and the carrier used.

Once this is done, send the following commands to configure your Y18 device.

Y18 configuration commands:

Command to configure APN:

APN,apn,user,password#

IP and Port configuration command:

SERVER,1,18.232.201.231,3674,0#

Command to configure the Timezone:

GMT,W,0,0#

Command to set ignition On/Off reporting time:

TIMER,30,3600#

Command to configure GPRS:

GPRS,1#

That's it! Just check the status of the device online in the Softruck tool. If the device doesn't communicate, check the SIM card, the registered IMEI and the settings sent.

It is important to note that in order for the platform to recognize the equipment, it must be properly registered.
