How to set up the Suntech ST8310U 4G device - SMS

"Device Setup and Testing on the Softruck Platform: Complete Guide for Configuration and Sending Commands via SMS"

Updated over 10 months ago

To configure and test a device on the Softruck platform, it is necessary for it to have been correctly registered in the tool beforehand.

With the device properly registered, it must be configured to report to the Softruck platform.

In this manual, we will learn how to perform this configuration via text messages (SMS), which should be sent to the number of the SIM card embedded in the respective device.

Before starting to send configuration commands:

  1. Install the SIM card in your device.

  2. Connect the equipment to a 12V power source.

It is important to emphasize that the APN, username, and password information must be updated with the correct details, as they vary depending on the chip provider and the carrier used.

Once this is done, send the following commands to configure your ST-8310 device.

Configuration Commands

Command to configure APN:

PRG;IDENTIFIER;10;00#01;01#APN;02#USER;03#PASSWORD

Command to configure IP, Port:

PRG;IDENTIFIER;10;05#52.87.53.184;06#3675;08#52.87.53.184;09#3675

Configuring Time:

PRG;IDENTIFIER;16;70#STOP-TIME;71#0;72#0;73#IGNITION-ON-VEHICLE-STOPPED;74#0;75#ANGLE;76#0;77#0;78#0;79#MOVEMENT-TIME;80#0;81#ANGLE;82#60;83#0;84#0;85#60;86#0;87#0

Recommended Configuration:

  • Stop time (ignition off): 3600

  • Stop mode time (ignition on and vehicle stopped): 60

  • Movement time: 60

  • Angle: 30

Note: The model identifier on the device appears as ESN (Electronic Serial Number) and can be found as a numerical sequence between the "-" (hyphen) characters. The longest number, located in the middle of this sequence, is the device's unique identifier, which is used to identify it exclusively on the network or management system. This code is essential for activation, tracking, and authentication of the device in maintenance processes or network updates.

That's it! Just check the device's online status in the Softruck tool. If the equipment does not communicate, check the SIM card, the registered IMEI, and the commands sent.
